Caturnalia derives from a mix of the Ancient Roman holiday Saturnalia and…cats.
Saturnalia was marked by a carnival-like atmosphere and a reversal of typical societal norms. Amongst other things, masters served the servants, and so starting tonight, the cats are in charge – forever! Musical acts for the night include Columbia’s only cat rock band Turbo Gatto, electronic artist and vocalist Cyberbae, electro-pop duo Glowing Screens, a new project from members of Pray For Triangle Zero called Internet Party, an experimental piece from members of Ritual Abjects, and more. There will be a dollar off admission if you sport any sort of cat-ware.
