This rally is a part of a national movement in 50 states and the District of Columbia - "United for Marriage: Light the Way to Justice" - http://www.lighttojustice.org
Why we gather: In just a few short weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court will consider two cases about the freedom to marry. These two cases – which concern the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California’s Proposition 8 – are fundamentally about whether gay and lesbian Americans can enjoy the same freedoms and opportunities as everyone else.
Momentum is on our side - a bipartisan majority of Americans recognize that the ability to marry the person you love is a Constitutional right. But now is the time to stand up and show your support for marriage equality. This is a historic moment in the equality movement, and we hope you can participate in an event to show your support. Let's give people hope and create lasting change by using the voice of the people!
